Colin Kaepernick is finally coming to his senses. People get there is racial injustice in the United States. They really do. But he doesn't need to disrespect the anthem or the American flag to spread awareness. Kneeling during the national anthem has damaged Kaepernick's reputation. Ending his protest is the right move.

NFL owners have soured on bringing him because he would be a distraction. Now that he is going to stand for the national anthem, teams might actually look to bring him on. Bringing awareness is important, but having it shouldn't come at the expense of being employed.

Now that Kaepernick is standing and once he gets employed, he can regain the huge platform he had as a starting quarterback. He can't really spread the message as far as he wants without the huge stage the NFL provides.

If Kaepernick wants to continue the conversation, he can do it by bringing it up during press conferences, during interviews or at any of the other charitable events he could be funding with an NFL check. Standing is the right choice for Kaepernick.

A year ago, Colin Kaepernick put everything on the line to raise awareness of the racial injustices people of color face every day. What it created was a national conversation that has continued today.

Other players have joined in, even though Kaepernick is unemployed, because they believe in his message and the sacrifice it took to bring racial awareness to the forefront.

If Kaepernick is signed by an NFL team, he should continue to kneel during the national anthem.

Without Kaepernick, players would still be scared to take a stand on issues they believe in. Now multiple players across the league are kneeling because they want to continue the conversation, not let it die out. His kneeling protest has spread. Standing will only prevent others to take a stand themselves.

Kaepernick needs to kneel.

Kaepernick made this protest in order for changes to be made. With the racial climate the way it is right now, people need his protest more than ever. People of color are literally under attack by white nationalists in this country. They need their issues to be front and center as much as possible for people to understand their struggles.

This protest is bigger than Kaepernick or anyone else. He needs to keep it going.
