Will you boycott Nike for supporting Colin Kaepernick?
How can Nike give a platform to such a polarizing figure? Colin Kaepernick started protests during the national anthem and now he's causing trouble because of a flag. Extremists may have warped the meaning of the flag, but real Americans know that revolutionary flag represents freedom and people have to support that.
Nike has obviously prioritized being edgy rather than the respect of the country that has allowed, and empowered, the company to become an iconic sneaker producer with over $39 billion in revenue. People shouldn't buy anything from a brand that does not respect the flag.
Finally! Corporate America gets it!
Nike is doing the right thing by backing Kaepernick. His protest against police brutality and racial injustice has brought issues to light and he needs to be supported. Now, he's bringing to light the co-opting of the revolutionary flag by extremist groups and making sure the company isn't associated with that.
People are acting like flocking to other shoe companies like Converse is going to do anything to Nike's bottom line. News flash: Converse is owned by Nike. Boycotters can't even get boycotting right!
Everyone wants to be on the right side of history and Nike wants people with a conscience wearing its gear. This company deserves to be embraced for taking a stand on social issues, not boycotted.
