Should the NFL expand the playoffs?

The NFL is proposing a change to the playoff system in the new collective bargaining agreement, hoping to add two more teams to the postseason mix potentially starting in 2021. Some think that including more teams will motivate more organizations to go for a spot instead of tank. Others think it will dilute the quality of play and include teams below .500. What do you think? 🏈

Who doesn't want more football? Not only would this new playoff system make the first-round bye more important (only the No. 1 seed would have that honor in the proposed format), it would incentivize lower teams to try at the end of the season rather than tanking when their records fall below .500.

It's not like it'll make the playoffs any less meaningful. It's only on more team per conference and it'll allow for more excitement. This will be a great change for the NFL if it passes.

The NFL Playoffs are perfect the way they are. Only 12 of the 32 teams will make the postseason, making it a special honor. Adding more teams would only dilute the product and allow more 7-9 teams to compete for a Super Bowl Championship. This isn't progress.

The regular season in the NFL means something because there are so few games and so few opportunities to move up in the standings if you lose early. Bringing in more teams in the playoffs will only reward mediocre teams when the postseason is supposed to be about excellence.

The league should remove this part of the proposed CBA.
