Do you approve of Donald Trump's response to the coronavirus?

Over several press conferences, President Trump has claimed the initially weak response to the coronavirus was due to a weak system created by his predecessors, but now his new system is in place and is going well. Trump is optimistic about the response. Trump hinted at the possibility of lifting some restrictions in the near future as part of an effort to maintain the economy—something in line with Wall Street leaders and economists who worry about the economic impact of a coronavirus depression.

However, medical professionals and epidemiologists warn millions will die in the scenario currently being endorsed by some industry leaders. Frontline medical professionals say Trump has done too little, too late. Already, hospitals are facing equipment shortages despite having nearly two months of lead time to prepare. Trump helped create the crisis by cutting the team in charge of pandemic response back in 2018, hampering the coordination and response necessary to quickly and effectively respond to an outbreak like this.

Some are cautioning that an economic meltdown over the coronavirus shutdowns could be as damaging as the death and suffering inflicted by the disease itself.

Despite the contrarian thinking, however, many experts say Trump's response will lead to even more people dying.
