It’s hard to find a TV show that you can watch with your parents these days. The content available is either straight-up too raunchy, or meant for those ages five and under which, honestly, we do watch, but still. This is why many of us harken back to the sitcoms of yore, classics such as “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” that balanced relatable tear-jerks with laughs, as well as “Family Matters,” whose unforgettable main character remains a favorite of many to this day. Which is your favorite?

You can’t hear the words “West Philadelphia” without busting out the lyrics to the opening of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” The show wormed its way into the hearts of various generations, not only giving us some of the greatest belly laughs ever, but also showing us how poignant life lessons can be taught in between the comedy.

Take that one iconic scene with pertaining to Will’s (Will Smith) dad, or all the life lessons that tough-but-lovable Uncle Phil (James Avery) taught us. Even Carlton (Alfonso Ribeiro) had his own share of dramatic episodes. So we go back to “Fresh Prince,” and laugh and cry, then laugh and cry again. Hopefully our neighbors have just gotten used to the noise by now.

“Family Matters” is one of those shows you kind of casually turned on and haven’t turned off for the past, like, 30 years. It’s a half hour of the good feels, centering around the Winslow family who have their own series of quirky, daily happenstances, peppered with doses of hilarity. What’s not to love?

Let’s also not forget that iconic nineties crossover where Steve Urkel (Jaleel White), the ever adorkable main character, made an appearance on an episode of “Full House”? Did he do that? Yes, yes, he did.
